Example Three: Combinations and Phrasing on the Bass Drum
And now, in Example Three, we're going to look at some different combinations and some different phrasing on the bass drum.
What to Expect:
- You might see:
- A quarter note rest
- A half note rest
- A bar that has quarter note bass drums all the way through it
We're going to mix it up here.
Let's Try This Example:
Hopefully, you made good use of your counting there, because we need to be extra careful where there's a half note rest.
Important Note:
- There’s that much more space in which we could close the gap unintentionally and come in too early with the next beat.
So, hopefully, you practiced your counting.
