Music Lesson Transcript: Example Four
Now in Example Four, we're combining some of the ideas we've just learned and also reaching way back into concepts we were working on earlier.
Key Concepts:
- Playing Two Snares in a Row
- Transitioning to the Hi-Hat
New Elements:
- Adding in:
- Eighth note snares
- Quarter note snare
- Quarter note bass drum
After this, we're going back to the hi-hat.
There's a fair bit of movement in this one, and it's preparing us for playing Big Mouth, which we will do soon.
1, 2, 3, 4.
That example is really interesting—this little extract from Big Mouth.
- The guitar is playing a regular pattern throughout.
- We're actually playing in unison with the bass guitar, which is quite unusual.
The bass guitar is sort of taking the lead a little bit, and we're hopefully syncing up with that.
So, it's just a different way of playing that kind of music.
