Understanding the Bass Line
The bass line is quite interesting because it doesn't really change very much.
Chord Changes
- One: You're on the one there.
- Four: When it goes to the four, the only thing that changes is the third goes from major to minor, then back to major.
- Five: The five is actually a 2, 5, 1, and then minor.
- Descending: On the way down, it goes back to the four.
Instrument Specifics
On this organ, which is quite particular because it is 54 years old, there's a slight fault down the bottom that I should bring to your attention.
- If you listen to the output of these notes, that B flat is a lot quieter.
- Basically, there's nothing you can do about that.
- That's just indicative of the instrument.
So, if you hear a drop when it goes to that, that's not deliberate, and it won't happen on your instrument. This is a 1963 instrument, so that's just how it is.
