Example One: Quarter Notes on the Hi-Hat
In this lesson, we're going to play quarter notes on the hi-hat. There are three sticking examples to explore:
Sticking Examples

Single Strokes
- Begin with the right hand (if you’re right-handed) or the left hand (if you’re left-handed).
- Alternate hands, playing one beat each.

Double Strokes
- Play two notes with each hand.

Paradiddles
- Use the paradiddle pattern that we know and love from previous lessons.
It's up to you to choose which of these you want to focus on.
For instance, I might try one example the first time, and then do a different one to show how they’re used.
