Welcome to the Course
We're here in the heart of the West End!
I am delighted that you've joined me, and that we can journey into musical theatre singing together. Now we are in one of my very favourite theatres, the Bridewell Theatre, where I first fell in love with musical theatre.
Course Structure
This course can be taken at your own speed. Here are a few options for how to approach it:
- You can set aside a day and do it all in one go.
- You can watch back anytime you want.
- You can take as long as you need and use the videos at your own pace.
The course is broken into lessons that will cover everything from technique to acting through song.
A Note on Emotions

- I can't hear you, unfortunately, so please do stay vocally safe.
- Don't do anything that hurts or causes you any discomfort.
- Make sure you warm up before every session.
We've included an audio track and a warm-up to get you singing ready.
Getting Started
To do this course, you're going to need to have a song ready. To help you, we have links to a list of recommended repertoire and where you can find your backing tracks.
Alternatively, you can choose any song that you already know and love.

About the instructor
Rachel Lynes travaille avec des chanteurs allant des artistes de studio aux interprètes du West End. Elle étudie la voix depuis plus de 20 ans, avec un accent particulier sur le lien entre le chant, la santé mentale et le bien-être. Comme interprète, elle a passé 10 ans à tenir des rôles principaux dans le West End et à l'international, travaillant avec tout le monde, d'Andrew Lloyd Webber à des créatifs récompensés aux Tony et Olivier Awards. Affectueusement surnommée « la murmureuse de voix » par les chanteurs qu'elle accompagne, l'approche de Rachel est rigoureusement technique tout en restant accessible, alliant la science au cœur. Elle est aussi la fondatrice et la coach de the Sing Space, un studio en ligne mondial ouvert aux chanteurs de tous niveaux et abritant le premier Vocal Gym™ au monde, qui propose des cours collectifs, des cours de chant individuels et des occasions exclusives de se produire devant certains des créatifs les plus en vue du secteur, dont des directeurs de casting, des metteurs en scène, des producteurs et des stars du West End.
