Introduction to the Turnaround
So, I did start the tune with a little turnaround, which was taken from the Jelly Roll Blues by Jelly Roll Morton.
Exploring the Harmonic Flavor
I want to go through that with you because it's slightly different. It's got a slightly different sort of harmonic flavor to it. Rather than, for example, Dr. John's style, or a more traditional blues vibe, this piece has more of a rhythm and blues gospel influence.
Encouragement to Experiment
Feel free to throw those ideas in! You could mix it up by incorporating an unexpected ending like that.

About the instructor
Paddy Milner is recognised as one of the leading blues piano players in the world - he is currently keyboard player of choice for Sir Tom Jones, following several years with the late, great Jack Bruce - but he is also a superb original songwriter and a distinctive singer.
