Built around the people who teach
MusicGurus is a subscription platform of video courses taught by working musicians. Here is what that means for you.
Paid by real engagement
We don't pay a flat per-stream rate. Each period, subscription revenue goes into a pool that's shared out by how learners actually use your lessons: what they watch, how deeply, and whether they come back.
How our royalty engine works →One course, four languages
MusicGurus is live in English, Spanish, French and German. A course you make once reaches learners in all four.
Film it your way
Self-produce at home or in your studio to our spec, film with our crew in London or Los Angeles, or do a bit of both.
More than video
Your lessons play in a proper lesson player, with interactive sheet music synced to the video, songbooks and downloads.
Quarterly statements
Every quarter you get a statement that shows how your teaching was used and what it earned.
Your name, your profile
Every guru gets a public profile page with their courses, story and links to their work.
See KT Tunstall's profile →Great players who can explain what they do
You don't need a big following. You need to be great at what you do and good at explaining it.
Our gurus are career musicians: people who play for a living, teach for a living, or both. If you can show a learner how you actually play, and why, we'd like to hear from you.
- Working and touring musicians
- Session players
- Experienced teachers
- Composers and arrangers
- Any instrument
- Any genre
- Teach in English · Español · Français · Deutsch

Bring your catalogue to people who want to play it
You hold the rights and the raw material: sheet music, songbooks, recordings, syllabi and artists. We work with you to turn them into courses and interactive content for learners in four languages.

We add interactive sheet music synced to your videos, and your lessons play in the MusicGurus lesson player with songbooks and downloads.

Teaching on MusicGurus: your questions
How do gurus get paid?
From a royalty pool, not a flat per-stream rate. Each period, subscription revenue goes into a pool that's shared out by real learner engagement: the lessons people watch, how deeply they engage, and how often they come back. You get a statement every quarter.
Read how our royalty engine works →Do I need my own camera and studio?
No. You can film with us; we've produced courses in London and Los Angeles. If you'd rather self-produce, we'll share our filming spec, review your footage and add the notation and interactive features. Many gurus do some of each.
Can I keep teaching on YouTube, Patreon or other platforms?
We agree terms with each guru, and that includes what you do elsewhere. Tell us about your other channels when you apply and we'll talk it through on the intro call.
I already sell my course elsewhere. Can I publish it on MusicGurus too?
Often, yes. It depends on the rights you hold and on any exclusivity you've agreed with another platform. We agree terms with each creator, so tell us where your course is published today and we'll look at it together.
Publish your courses →Who owns the content?
Ownership is agreed with each guru as part of your terms. We'll go through it with you before anything is filmed.
How long does it take to make a course?
It depends on the course and how you film it. Once we've planned the outline together, we agree a schedule that works around your playing and teaching.
Do I need to speak English?
No. You can teach in English, Spanish, French or German. MusicGurus is live in all four, and a course made once reaches learners across them.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
I'm a publisher. How do partnerships work?
We work with publishers, labels, exam boards, music schools and instrument brands in a few ways: turning songbooks into interactive sheet music, building graded courses from a syllabus, filming masterclasses with your artists, and co-branded campaigns. Choose “Partner with us” in the form above and tell us what you hold.
I have an audience but don't want to teach?
