Lesson transcript:
Congratulations on Completing the Course!
All right, you totally rocked it through this course. Good job! You made it through, you watched all the videos and did the examples. Awesome!
You Are Now a MIDI Wizard
You are now a wizard when it comes to recording and editing MIDI in Ableton Live. This is huge! This is a significant step for you as a producer and a musician because now you have the ability to:
- Create new parts
- Edit those parts
- Work with them within Ableton
That's gigantic! First step, so good job for sticking to your path.
Course Overview
In this course, we covered the basics of:
- Recording audio as well as MIDI
- What MIDI is
- How to record MIDI
- Setting up your MIDI controller
- Building new parts within Ableton Live
This is a huge first step for you as a musician, introducing you to a bunch of new sounds and tools to explore as you start your creative journey with Live.
Next Steps
Now, from here, I suggest taking some time to come up with:
- New ideas
- New beats
- New parts
Practice what you've learned! Just like picking up a guitar, this is all about clocking in enough hours and practicing to really grasp the basics of Ableton Live.
Maintain Your Progress
So stick with it! Even though the course is done, try to:
- Play around in Ableton at least once or twice a week
This will help develop you as a musician and producer within Live. I suggest setting a goal like:
- Finish three songs in the next two months.
It's a pretty easy and approachable goal, right? It's not too overwhelming, like finishing an album. Just set aside some dedicated time a day or two each week to work on those tracks and build up your ideas.
Explore Advanced Features
If you get to the point where you want to learn more advanced features in Ableton, such as:
- Arrangement view
- Different audio effects
- Advanced editing techniques
Then check out my other courses to learn the next level of Ableton.
Final Words
Once again, good job for sticking through it and making it through all these videos. You've got it down!
Now, go out into the world and make some beats, create new sounds, and start being creative!
About the instructor
