Welcome to the Course!

Hey, guys!

My name is Paul Worley. Thank you very much for purchasing the course, and I hope you really enjoy it.

Today's Lesson: Breaking Down "Red"

Today, we're going to be breaking down a song that I've written called "Red," featuring the artist Emmy Green. We will explore various key elements of the song, including:

  • Identifying the main parts and hooks

    • What role do they play in the overall composition?
  • Examining the arrangement

  • Discussing rejected versions of the song

    • Why didn't they work?
    • What parts did we choose to keep from those versions?
  • Taking an in-depth look at various sections of the song

    • Examining the drum track
    • Analyzing the bass track
    • Exploring the synths, all effects, ambience, and vocals
  • Understanding the mastering process

    • What I do to get a track sounding polished, ready for radio, or for presentation to managers, A&R reps, or artists.

By the end of this lesson, you will be ready to hear the song.

I hope you enjoy it, and thank you once again for purchasing the course!
