About this course

Volume 3 of Dov Waterman's Composition & Creativity series - the performance and control layer. The MIDI effects section uses Logic's modifier suite as idea generators: the Chord Trigger for chord progression sketching, the Modulator and Note Repeater for movement, the Randomizer and Transposer for happy accidents. The smart controls section maps interface parameters to a MIDI controller for hands-on automation, and the course closes with creating reusable Apple Loops for future recall. End-of-section challenge: build a riser using smart controls.

This volume completes Part 1 of the series. Continue with Volume 4 (The Writing Process) in Part 2 to apply everything in real compositions.
