Exploring MIDI Effects in Logic

Okay, so we've looked at the MIDI effects in Logic and seen how they can be used to fire up ideas, spark creativity, and come up with harmonic and melodic components that can help you move the track along.

My Go-To MIDI Effect: The Arpeggiator

The MIDI effect that I use most, I have to say, is the Arpeggiator. It's really easy to create movement with an Arpeggiator.

• I can play an arpeggiated chord with my fingers.
• The options that the Arpeggiator gives you spark imagination and creativity.

You can then, obviously, as I showed in the course, utilize the MIDI region and bring it down into another instrument to create layers of arpeggiated sound.

Challenge for This Part of the Course

The challenge for this part of the course is to create a simple chord progression using the chord trigger.

• This progression should have a beginning, a middle, and an end to it.
• You'll be using just the chord trigger.
