Music Lesson: Cumberland Gap
Now we're going to try a song that has a forward roll in it. It's called Cumberland Gap.
Forward Roll Pattern
The roll we'll use is:
thumb 1, 2, thumb 1, thumb 1, 2, thumb 1, 2, thumb 1.
Adding Techniques
- We're going to add a hammer to that.
- It starts with the thumb and ends with the index.
- The song also has:
- A slide
- A forward roll
- A reverse roll
Playing the Song
- I'm going to play the whole song now.
- Now, I'll play it a little bit slower.
Note: Notice it does the lick on the first measure as it does on the last measure.
