Mum Mum Exercise
All right, so now we're going to be doing the Mum Mum exercise. This exercise is going to take you much closer to singing because:
- We're now opening the mouth
- We're getting real vowel-consonant combinations
This is a very good exercise for balancing out your voice.
Key Points:
- Vowel Clarity: We just want to make sure that we keep that vowel clear.
- Troubleshooting: If you notice yourself running into any sort of problems, please refer back to the video component of this to troubleshoot any of those spots.
Um, but for now, I'm going to give you the demonstration and then we will jump into your turn.

Adam Mishan is a vocal coach who taught himself to sing. His videos document the journey from not being able to hold a pitch to singing with real control, and that path now shapes how he teaches - over 200,000 people follow along on YouTube. In his courses you'll work on pitch, breath support, tone and range in small, repeatable steps, the same way he built his own voice.
