Lesson transcript:

B Woop Sound Exercise

This exercise focuses on the b woop sound.

Purpose

The great thing about this exercise is that it really helps men to get into that head voice resonance, producing this whoop sound.

Benefits

  • Natural High Voice: It naturally pops your voice up into that really high range.
  • Alleviates Strain: It helps to alleviate any strain or push when trying to reach those high notes.
  • Simplicity: This exercise makes it much simpler to access the super high range.

Common Pitfalls

While practicing this exercise, people might face some challenges, such as:

  • Not Doing the Sound Quickly Enough: We want it to be quick, almost like a water drop.

"It's got to be like almost like a water drop."

Key Points

To ensure a successful practice:

  • Maintain that water drop sound.
  • Avoid getting into a repetitive pattern:
    • We don't want: whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop.
  • Focus on making the sound:
    • Very short and staccato.
    • Staccato means short and broken up.

We truly want it to be short and broken up during this exercise!
