Welcome to the Rock School Piano Syllabus

Hi there! I'm Paddy Milner, and I'm very happy to be here with Rock School teaching the piano syllabus.

Experience in Music

I've been very fortunate to travel around the world through music and play with some incredible artists, including:

• Tom Jones
• Van Morrison
• David Gilmour

Additionally, I've had the pleasure of working with many fantastic musicians, both known and unknown, which has been a joy.

Course Focus

In this course, I'll be primarily looking at soul, gospel, blues, and some other rock and pop tunes.

Specialization

• Blues is my specialty, along with everything related to that sound world.

I've been given some fantastic tunes to work with, and for each one, I'll break it down into several elements:

Learning Approach

• Arrangements: How to play the pieces.
• Stylistic Elements: What makes these styles unique, focusing on:
  • Feel
  • Groove
  • Time (very important aspects)

Technical Aspects

We will also delve into some technical elements within these pieces.

Conclusion

There's absolutely tons of stuff to learn! I've really enjoyed exploring all these pieces as a chance to rediscover some great songs.
