All right, so there are a few ideas in there. I'll try and remember some of them.

Key of G

We've looked at a bunch of them already. Things like:

• That thing, which is in the key of G this time
• There are also things like this, which we've also looked at

Fast Riffs and Johnny Johnson

There's some other things, though. There's this thing which sped up, and that's something very much that Johnny Johnson would have used. He was very good at playing those things very quickly.

"If you listen to some of his Chuck Berry records, there's often some of that really high, fast, kind of tinkling piano going on."

These are the kinds of things that, again, are variations on a cool kind of riff to bring out. I was doing a lot of those, those kind of rundowns.

Dissonance and Variations

I sometimes use variations on that which just adds that sort of dissonant crunch, which I quite dig. And then what else is there? Sometimes maybe come down in thirds as well, doing lots of those kinds of things.

Jerry Lee Lewis Boogie

Now, here's a nice little idea which I know Jerry Lee uses on "Lewis Boogie." I'm not sure I played that in the little demonstration, but it's based on the embellishment of a triad. It goes something like this:

• It's just a nice little thing, revolving around a G triad.
• You can kind of do it in any order.

You could:

• Maybe extend it up to the seventh
• Play around with that

It's a nice little lick. Maybe start it with the G with the fifth at the bottom, something like that.

Melodic Variations

Those things could lead to slightly more melodic ideas. Maybe you could do a little melody like:

• Add some fatter voicings

So, there's another little idea for you there. You could do a little rolling idea, sort of leading to chord four.

"It's quite a nice little effect."

Now, I'm just going down a sixth chord leading to chord four.
