Lesson transcript:
Hey there, everybody! How are you today? Great to see you!
My name is Andrew James Johnson. I'm a composer and pianist from the UK. We're sitting in a great studio here in the heart of London, featuring a beautiful Steinway piano. I'm going to be recording some fantastic tracks for you, helping you understand how to play your pieces better.
A little bit about me:
I've released a few albums over the years and I'm truly enjoying my life as a musician, making and playing music with these fingers of mine!
It's really great that you've chosen to learn the piano, that's absolutely fantastic news!
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced Grade 8 student tackling some of the hardcore stuff, you're in the right place.
I have played everything from:
You name it, we've got it all!
I look forward to diving deep into the music. We may explore some details that you might not have encountered in your lessons or perhaps you've been learning purely from a visual point of view. That's even better, as you can take these lessons away and really maximize your learning experience.
As your instructor, I'm here to help you understand the finer points of making music. This includes:
Music is so much more than just the black dots on the page. As you learn and improve, you'll start to realize that it's all about bringing the music to life.
The real difference between a pro player and an amateur player is the ability to communicate the message of the music, to the audience or even just to yourself.
That's what we're here to do, and I can't wait to get started! We'll be diving into some fun courses and pieces together.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Cheers!
