Approaches to Improvisation
Okay then, guys!
So, we're going to check out some approaches to improvisation.
The Joy of Improvisation
Improvisation has got to be one of the coolest things that you can do on the guitar. At its best, it's you taking the musical ideas in your head and transferring them immediately onto the guitar. There's a really cool feeling when you get that right!
I'm sure your guitar heroes that you've seen live or on YouTube videos have some cracking improvisational skills. It's something we can all hope to improve on and work on.
Developing Your Skills
Now, those skills, although they don't happen immediately, bring great fun along the way as you develop them.
Tools for Improvisation
What I'm going to do is talk about a few different tools that we can use, which we have at our disposal, to come up with those initial improvisational ideas.
- They'll help you not be quite so overwhelmed by the thought of approaching an improvisation scenario.
