Merging Live Sets and Adding Individual Parts

In this video, I want to show you how you can merge live sets or add individual parts to another live set.

Adding a Folder

You already learned that you can add a folder by clicking on Add Folder here in the browser. Then, you can choose a folder that contains lots of your live projects and live sets.

  • In this case, I'm going to choose this one.
  • You can click on the folder to select it.

Accessing Live Sets and Samples

Here, you already see ones already unfolded. Let's take this one.

  • You've got all the samples in the Samples folder.
  • Another folder called Field Recordings is also included here.
  • Additionally, all the live sets are available.

For example, I could just add a complete live set by clicking and dragging. It tells me that a plugin could not be loaded. That's totally fine right now.

Tracks Recreated

Here you can see all the tracks added to the left of the four tracks that were already in the live set.

  • Not only the Session View clips are recreated, as you can see here, but also:
    • All the clips in Arrangement View
    • All the devices that were used
    • All the routing and automation

Note: Everything is recreated except for the master track. The effects on the master track, for example, are not recreated and the return tracks aren't either.

Undo Action

Let's just undo this now.

Adding Individual Parts

What we can also do is add individual parts.

  • We can unfold this live set further, revealing all the tracks included here.
  • We could drag in a track to the right, for example, to keep those.

Again, all the clips in Session View and Arrangement View are recreated. All the devices used in this case have nothing on here, but all the routings and automations can be unfolded further.

Adding Clips and Grooves

For example, we could just add the clip; it acts just like a live clip, meaning the devices are also recreated as well.

  • If you have live clips in here, you can preview them by clicking again, or you can click down here.

For instance, if I think here, I used grooves. If you used grooves in the live set, then you will also have a Grooves folder, and you can simply drag a groove onto any clip as well.

And now, this has been added.
