Welcome to the Exciting Part!
Congratulations! We've made it to the exciting part of our guitar lesson.
Overview of Our Journey
We'll be looking at nine pieces in six different styles. This is a fantastic opportunity to:
- Further our knowledge of the guitar
- Practice the stylistic studies we've learned
- Apply various techniques within these styles
Playing with a backing track will be really fun, as it will emulate how it feels to play with a real band in the real world.
Structure of Each Piece
With each piece, we have three different sections:
- Break it down together: We'll learn it bar by bar.
- Listen to the song: I'll play the song for you so you can hear how it sounds with the backing track.
- Play on your own: You can play to the backing track by yourself.
Interactive Learning
It gets even better! With the interactive sheet music, we can:
- Loop bars: Go over the same bar repeatedly until you feel comfortable.
- Alter the tempo: Slow the piece down and gradually build it up.
As you become more comfortable with each piece, you can build up your speed with the backing track. This approach gives us a real sense of how it would be to play with a band and helps us get used to playing at different tempos.

About the instructor
Tommy Webb est un guitariste basé à Londres, titulaire d'une licence avec mention (BA Hons) en guitare de l'Academy of Contemporary Music de Guildford, où il a étudié auprès de Sandy Beales (One Direction, Wheatus) et Nicolas Meier (Jeff Beck). Son propre jeu circule librement entre rock, pop, indie, hip-hop, country et metal - précisément le terrain que couvrent ses méthodes de guitare. Tommy a travaillé avec un large éventail d'artistes et de groupes à travers le pays, dont Jarki Monno et Indira May, partageant scènes et sessions avec les guitaristes Paul Murray (Jess Glynne, Zak Abel) et Adam Chetwood (Paolo Nutini, Mark Ronson), ainsi que les batteurs Alex Woodward (Black Honey), Luke Robinson et “Bambi Music” (N-Dubz, Lethal Bizzle, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah). Sur disque et à la radio, Tommy a enregistré des sessions live pour BBC Three Counties Introducing, Vibe FM et Pulse 88, avec des morceaux diffusés sur BBC Radio 1 et Radio 2. Il a enregistré dans des studios comme South Lanes Brighton, Hempstead Road et Titan Studios, auprès de producteurs tels que Steph Carter (Gallows, Lyoness) et TMS / Froe Barnes (Lewis Capaldi, Dua Lipa).
