Welcome to the Course!
Hi, welcome to the course.
Course Overview
This course covers:
- Chords and chord sequences
- Improvising language of the greats such as:
- Jean Luc Ponty
- Stuff Smith
In the last series of videos, I showed you:
- The easy way into improvisation.
One of the reasons it was easy is that we avoided thinking too much about:
- Chords
- Theory
This approach is effective because:
- It gives you confidence
- It allows you to start quickly with improvisation.
Moving Forward
However, at some point, you're going to come across more difficult chord sequences. This is what the series of videos we're starting now is all about.
Key Focus
- Getting more confident about dealing with chords that are not so easy and straightforward.
There is quite a lot of theory at the beginning, but that will provide you with the grounding to take on the really fun stuff at the end, where I teach you the improvising language of:
- Jean Luc Ponty
- Stuff Smith
- And so on.
Okay, let's get into it!
