About this course

Rockschool Piano Grade 2 is where both hands start working independently and your stylistic range opens up. A team of pro pianists give you demonstration performances and step-by-step lessons on six contemporary pieces - Beyoncé's Halo, Coldplay's The Scientist, Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are, plus Ska'd For Life, Hit It Harder and The Faith Divide.

Around the repertoire you get clear, practical guidance on Grade 2 scales, arpeggios and chord voicings, your first steps into blues improvisation over a 12-bar form, and sight reading using the KAT TRAP method - taught by Ross Stanley, James Beckwith, Marina Haywood-Lieberman and Andrew Johnson. Loop and slow down any performance in the MusicGurus player to work out the tricky bars at your own pace.

Please note - the pieces in this Rockschool video course are from the 2017-19 exam syllabus. However they can still be performed as 'free choice' pieces in RSL exams.
