About this course

Rockschool Limited is the UK's leading awarding body for popular music exams. This course follows the Rockschool syllabus and pieces.

This is Part 2 of the Rockschool Piano Method. You'll extend your pitch reading, meet the left hand for the first time, combine both hands on simple pieces, and learn 3/4 time alongside the basics of harmony.

By the end of this course you'll be reading both treble and bass clefs, playing short pieces with both hands at once, and understanding 3/4 time and simple chord shapes. Part 3 (Growing Skills) takes your playing past the five-finger position.

Talia Girton

Talia Girton is a musician and HCPC-registered music therapist, and the founder of The Cycling Music Teachers. Her work brings together music therapy, counselling and education, and she tutors internationally on the music therapy training course at UDELAS in Panama as well as contributing to professional development with the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA). On MusicGurus she teaches the Piano Method and Piano Foundations courses, guiding complete beginners from first steps through rhythm, both hands, theory and performance.
