Hey guys, welcome to the course! You've made a great choice.

Important Information

Before you get started, I want to ensure you get the most out of this experience. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Rock School Book:
  • There's a lot of information available in this course, and it's not essential to own a Rock School book.
  • However, I recommend getting a book if you're looking to dive deep into the performance pieces.
  • You'll have access to all the transcriptions.
  • If you're interested in booking a graded exam, having your own book will be absolutely essential to sit the exam.

Course Structure

The course is divided into a few sections:

1. Performance:

   • A performance of each piece.

2. Analysis:

   • Covers aspects such as:
     • Technique
     • Structure
     • Ways to develop and improvise in designated sections.

3. Technical Exercises:

   • A run-through of all the technical exercises at your grade.

4. Improvisation and Creativity:

   • Emphasizes melodic and rhythmic comping improvisation, which is useful for both:
     • Approaching improvisation outside the Rock School syllabus.
     • Creating solos within pieces.

5. Additional Materials:

   • Lots of downloadable materials (PDFs, etc.) will be provided to help you progress further.
