Introduction

Welcome to Part Two of the Rock School Piano Method with Music Gurus. This course is designed for those who have finished Part One or who already have an understanding of the basics of piano playing.

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Talia, and I've been a music educator for over 15 years. I have extensive experience helping people get started with playing the piano.

Course Overview

In this course, we will deepen the foundations of what we built in Part One.

Topics Covered

We will go through 10 topics that will build on your knowledge of:

  • Note values
  • Rhythm reading
  • Musicianship

What You'll Learn

We will cover:

  • Your first scales
  • Some new key signatures
  • Additional notes on the stave
  • How to play chords

Then, we will put all of this together into some exciting new pieces!

Learning Approach

We'll break everything down into manageable chunks so that you can:

  • Go at your own pace
  • Learn in a way that works best for you

Reminder: You can pause the videos at any time and revisit them as many times as you need.

Practice Tools

You'll have a variety of tools to aid your practice, including:

  • Backing tracks: Play along with the band!
  • Interactive sheet music: Speed up or slow down the tracks.
  • Loop sections: Focus on particularly tricky parts by going over them repeatedly.

Keeping it Fun

We'll also incorporate games and fun exercises to keep learning interesting and to reinforce the concepts that we're learning.

Remember

Practice is the key to progress. Do your best to do a little bit each day.

Conclusion

Join me. We're going to have a great time. Let's take your piano playing to the next level!
