8th Note Rhythm Games

Now let's try some 8th note rhythm games to test your skills.

Review of Rests

First, we'll review some of the rests:

  • The symbol that looks like a hat is a half rest and lasts for two counts.
  • The symbol that looks like a lightning bolt is a quarter note rest and lasts for one count.
  • We also have an eighth rest, which looks like this:

The eighth rest, just like the eighth note, lasts for half a beat.

Rhythm Guessing Game

You'll see six examples appear on the screen. I'll play one of them, and you guess which one it is. Let's give it a try!

Here's the first one:
