Lesson transcript

Music Lesson: Snapping and Pitch Practice

Let's move on to the second exercise, first with snapping after a count of four:

1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4

Bit out of breath there. If you'd like, you can slow this down and do it according to your own counts.

When you're ready, we'll try it with the pitches.

Important Note:

There's one place in the music, in the second bar, where we'll need to move our five-finger up to C. Be ready for that part:

1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4
1 and 2 and 3 and 4

Practice Tip:

A way that I like to practice is to isolate the pitches.

  • Don't think about the rhythm.
  • Just figure out where the notes are to ensure you know where they are.

Then you can add the rhythm and the pitch together. We'll do that next in the backing track.
