Welcome to Part Two: Rock School Piano Method
Introduction
Welcome to Part Two of the Rock School Piano Method with Music Gurus. This course is designed for those who have finished Part One or who already have an understanding of the basics of piano playing.
Meet Your Instructor
My name is Talia, and I've been a music educator for over 15 years. I have extensive experience helping people get started with playing the piano.
Course Overview
In this course, we will deepen the foundations of what we built in Part One.
Topics Covered
We will go through 10 topics that will build on your knowledge of:
- Note values
- Rhythm reading
- Musicianship
What You'll Learn
We will cover:
- Your first scales
- Some new key signatures
- Additional notes on the stave
- How to play chords
Then, we will put all of this together into some exciting new pieces!
Learning Approach
We'll break everything down into manageable chunks so that you can:
- Go at your own pace
- Learn in a way that works best for you
Reminder: You can pause the videos at any time and revisit them as many times as you need.
Practice Tools
You'll have a variety of tools to aid your practice, including:
- Backing tracks: Play along with the band!
- Interactive sheet music: Speed up or slow down the tracks.
- Loop sections: Focus on particularly tricky parts by going over them repeatedly.
Keeping it Fun
We'll also incorporate games and fun exercises to keep learning interesting and to reinforce the concepts that we're learning.

Talia Girton est musicienne et musicothérapeute agréée par le HCPC, et fondatrice de The Cycling Music Teachers.
