Five Useful Licks for Your Repertoire
So I thought it'd be good to teach you five licks that I use myself, which are kind of in my stock repertoire. You don't have to play them exactly like this, but they're just good little ones to have kind of up your sleeve for when you want to get somewhere or move on somewhere else.
Lick 1: Inspired by the Greats
The first lick I'm going to show you is something that I've heard Buddy Guy do. I've also heard Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Jimmy Vaughan, and lots of others use it.
If you're in A, and you're playing sort of around here, the lick is specifically this:
- The lick itself (contextual usage):
"And I see it as a way of getting back down to your kind of like a box."
So when you're kind of up here, the actual lick is just this:
- It's all about that slide, all about that slide back.
From there, you can land it in a certain way. You know, I like going:
"But yeah, it's just that little lick there."
About the instructor
Scott McKeon ha dedicado toda una vida a su oficio como guitarrista.
