Music Lesson: Bringing It All Together
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I'll be your.
Alright, so you've officially made it to legend status in my books! You're on Day 25 in the home stretch of this course. You've stuck it out for 25 old days up until this point, and I'm really proud of you.
Today's Focus
Today, our focus is going to be on bringing it all together and applying the principles we've been going through over the past 25 days in actual songs.
Final Six Days
For the final six days, I want you to:
- Pick your favorite song.
- It might be some Lady Gaga,
- or some Imagine Dragons,
- or Led Zeppelin, whatever it is, you decide!
Pick that song, and then we're going to go through it with a number of different exercises. The key here is not to try to tackle the song entirely all in one go.
Breaking It Down
What we're going to do is break it down line for line as if we're in a lesson right now, and I'm working you through the song.
To avoid any copyright infringement, I'm just going to stick with Mary Had a Little Lamb. But you guys go with the song that you want to do.
First Exercise
-
Pick the first line of the song.
Let's use:
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. -
The Exercise:
- Start with the straw:
"We're going to go..."
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb.
- Start with the straw:
-
Try Different Exercises:
-
Mum Mum Exercise:
Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum.
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. -
La Ga La Ga Exercise:
La Gala, La Gala, La Gala, La Gala.
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. -
Neigh Neigh Exercise:
Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb.
-
You'll notice that each of these exercises brings out and focuses on a certain aspect of your voice, and doing it after the exercise will feel much easier than you thought it would otherwise.
Your Goal
Your goal is to work through each exercise back and forth, line for line throughout the entire song.
Important Notes:
- As with all the other exercises, make sure to limit your practice to a maximum of 15-20 minutes, doing it three to four times a day.
- This section of the course is probably the most important part because, at the end of the day, we can all do exercises from here till tomorrow, but if we can't start to apply it to songs, it's not really going to be useful.
Work through all of your favorite songs this way, and you'll see incredible improvements in your singing!
Course Reflection
I hope you've enjoyed this course. It's been a serious journey. You've gone through tons of exercises in this 30-day period, and I hope you've noticed significant improvements in your voice.
Feel free to reach out to me on the contact page of my website. I'd be happy to set up one-on-one lessons with you.
Thank You
With all that said, thank you all for joining me. I really appreciate you purchasing this course and joining me on this journey.
Please share your progress with me! Show me how far you've come in these 30 days. I'd be really excited to see all of your progress.
Remember, anyone can learn how to sing as long as you keep on singing.
I'll see you guys in the next course!
About the instructor
