Overview of Vowels in this Course
In this course, we will cover the following vowels:
- A
- I
- O
- U
The Ah Vowel Modification
The ah vowel within the bridge is going to modify toward an.
Purpose of This Modification
What this does is help to release the larynx so that it doesn't jump up too high in the throat.
Migration of Vowels
As we move through the bridge range:
- The E vowel will migrate more towards an.
- The O vowel will also migrate more towards the an sound.
- The U vowel will migrate more towards the an vowel as we progress through the bridge.
Initial Steps
Now, I know this all might sound really confusing starting at this point; I just wanted to give you an overview so you know what to expect as we move through it.
Starting with the True Ah
We're going to start with a true ah.
- Make sure that your vowel stays pure to an.
- You can hear that there's a very slight modification towards an at the top, but it's going to help find an extra little bit of release on that note.
Next Steps
Next, we're going to go to the next note up.
- You will see that, in this way, we are migrating more towards the next target as we progress.
This is how you're going to approach your ah vowel in your full voice tone as you move through the bridge.
