Stripe 3: Moving the Slide on the Trombone

Hi, welcome to Stripe 3!

The time has finally come for us to move the slide on the trombone. Let's go over a few things we've learned already.

Holding the Trombone Correctly

  • Unlock the Slide: Make sure the slide is unlocked.
  • Grip: Use two fingers and your thumb to hold it.
  • Positioning: Bring the trombone up.

Moving the Slide

  • Smooth Movement: See if you can move the slide smoothly out and back in without moving the trombone around.

Pitch Variations

  • Remember: There are high, medium, and low pitches.

  • Sound Check:

    • With the slide all the way in, the pitches sound like this.
    • As we move the slide further out, those pitches go down in pitch.

Let's learn some of those pitches on the trombone!
