Second Chorus Breakdown
So, let's look at this second chorus.
- We've got a nice rolling riff.
- It's all built on a C major triad, resolving via that D with a little flair.
So, just get that nice and strong and swinging!
Transitioning to the G Chord
That leads into:
- A nice little kind of diminished section, which we explore in Pinetop Smith's "Pinetop's Boogie Woogie."
- When we go to the G chord, we have a nice diminished chord leading to it.
Single Note Lines
- Notice those little single note lines.
- Again, this is a very Pete Johnson line, which is very similar to the thing we heard in the first chorus.
