Understanding Copyright in the NFT and Crypto World
When it comes to NFTs or the crypto world:
- Any replication, even one-off replications, counts as the creation of a new copy of a copyrighted work.
- So yes, you are still protected.
The fact that a new form of exploitation has taken place:
- Does not impact your rights as a songwriter.
- Does not affect whether or not you own that copyright.
- Does not influence whether or not you are entitled to income from that copyright.
