Welcome to the Piano Syllabus

Hi there!

I'm Paddy Milner, and I'm very happy to be here with Rock School teaching the piano syllabus.

My Musical Journey

I've been very fortunate to travel around the world through music and have played with some incredible artists, including:

• Tom Jones
• Van Morrison
• David Gilmour

And many other amazing musicians, both known and unknown, who have been a joy to work with.

Course Overview

On this course, I'll primarily focus on:

• Soul
• Gospel
• Blues
• Rock and Pop tunes

Specialization in Blues

Blues is my specialty, and everything related to that sound world. I've been given some fantastic tunes to work with!

What You Will Learn

For each tune, I'll break it down by looking at:

• Arrangements: How to play the pieces stylistically.
• Feel and Groove: Important aspects that define the styles.
• Timing: The rhythm and flow of the music.
• Technical Elements: Specific techniques within those pieces.

Conclusion

There's absolutely tons of stuff to learn! I've really enjoyed delving into these pieces as a chance to rediscover some great songs. I hope you enjoy playing them and learn a lot!
