Hi there, I'm Paddy Milner, and I'm very happy to be here with Rock School, teaching the piano syllabus.

My Musical Journey

I've been very fortunate to travel around the world through music and play with some great artists, including:

• Tom Jones
• Van Morrison
• David Gilmore

I've had the pleasure of working with many other amazing musicians, both known and unknown, which has been a joy.

Course Overview

In this course, I will primarily focus on:

• Soul
• Gospel
• Blues
• Rock
• Pop tunes

Blues is my specialty, along with everything related to that sound world.

Breakdown of Tunes

I've been given some fantastic tunes to work with, and for each one, I will:

• Break it down
• Analyze the arrangements
• Discuss stylistic elements

Key Focus Areas

We will particularly look at:

• Feel
• Groove
• Time

These are very important aspects of music.

Technical Elements

Additionally, we will explore some technical aspects within those pieces.

Conclusion

There's absolutely tons of stuff to learn! I've really enjoyed revisiting these pieces, and I hope you enjoy playing them and learn a lot.
