Welcome to the Piano Syllabus with Paddy Milner

Hi there! I'm Paddy Milner, and I'm very happy to be here with Rock School, teaching the piano syllabus.

My Musical Journey

I've been very fortunate to travel around the world through music and play with some incredible artists, including:

Tom Jones
Van Morrison
David Gilmour

I've also had the joy of working with many other talented musicians, both known and unknown.

Course Focus

In this course, I will primarily explore:

Soul
Gospel
Blues
Rock
Pop tunes

Blues is my specialty, and I aim to delve into everything related to that sound world.

Learning Objectives

Throughout this course, we'll cover:

Arrangement Breakdown: How to play specific arrangements of the tunes.
Stylistic Analysis: What defines each style and how to capture it.
Feel and Groove: Understanding the importance of time, feel, and groove in music.
Technical Skills: Key technical aspects within the pieces.

Conclusion

There's absolutely tons of material to learn! I've really enjoyed rediscovering these great songs and pieces, and I hope you enjoy playing them and learn a lot along the way.
