Music Lesson

So while I'm working with you today on the songs, make sure that you have water by your side or a cup of tea, or whatever you feel is good for your voice at the moment.

  • Suggestions for Your Drink:
    • A little bit of lemon
    • A bit of honey
    • Hot water (let it cool down to nice room temperature)

Just have that ready, along with a nice bottle of water, and then you're all set.

Set a Challenge

What I want you to do today is to set yourself a challenge.

  • Timeframe:
    • Within two or three weeks, learn a song and perform it in front of your family members, or at your local club, pub, social hall, or church.

Set yourself that challenge, set yourself that goal!

Why Set a Challenge?

It will be so rewarding for you:

  • Achieve something within yourself
  • Gain encouragement
  • Build drive and ambition to continue on this journey

Explore Different Genres

There are hundreds and hundreds of songs out there that you can learn.

  • Embrace Variety:
    • Listen to lots of different types of music.
    • You might think, "I love soul music," and start singing a lot of soul songs.
    • But then you listen to something else and think, "No, no, I like jazz," and shift toward jazz or bebop.

Your world of music will blossom out in front of your eyes, and you will be so happy to further your ambition and career as a singer.

Make Your Family Proud

So, set yourself those goals. Get your family to sit down, make them listen.

  • Engage Them:
    • Tell them the story
    • Show them the emotion

Make them proud and make yourself proud as well!
