About this course

Rockschool Piano Grade 8 is the top of the syllabus - recital-standard repertoire and the improvising vocabulary expected of a working contemporary pianist. Professional players demonstrate and break down each of the six set pieces, then dig into the technical side: scales and arpeggios at tempo, advanced chord voicings, and how to improvise over contemporary progressions. With the MusicGurus player you can slow down and loop every performance to work out the difficult passages. Note: the pieces are from the 2017–19 syllabus and can still be played as free-choice pieces in current RSL exams.
