Objective:
Get really familiar with the tune so that you don't have to keep looking at the melody as you're going along.
Instructions

Familiarize Yourself with the Tune:
- Spend time listening to and practicing the tune.
- Aim to memorize the melody.

Utilize Riffs and Scales:
- See how freely you can use the riffs that we've looked at.
- Drop in and out of the melody using the major scale.

Play Without the Melody:
- Eventually, you should be able to play without the melody.
- Use just the riffs and the scale while still knowing where the melody would be at any point.

Testing Your Knowledge:
- Start at the beginning with your improvisation.
- Bring in the melody at some point to test your knowledge.
- Ensure you know exactly when you've reached the end of the 32 bars.
- Be aware of when you might want to start with the melody again.
Conclusion
This is something you'll have to do with every tune that you play, so it's worth spending a lot of time on.
About the instructor

Chris Haigh est violoniste professionnel depuis 25 ans et possède une expérience dans de nombreux genres. Il a joué sur plus de 75 albums, aux côtés d'artistes comme Alison Moyet, Bob Geldof, All About Eve, Michael Ball, David Soul, Oumou Sangare, The Quireboys, Riverdance, Morcheeba, James Galway et Steps. Il a joué du swing et du jazz avec The Kimbara Brothers, Diz Disley, Le Jazz, The Hot Club of London et les Quecumbar Allstars, et dirige un ensemble de swing soviétique à sept musiciens, The Kremlinaires.
