Left Hand Lesson: B Section
Once you've got the slightly trickier right hand section down of the B section, let's look at the left hand.
Similarity to the A Section
It's very, very similar to the A section, so this will take you no time at all!
Chord Progression
- We've got another four bars of:
- G
- B
- D
- E
This is exactly the same as the A section.
Specific Movements
Just like the A section, we're going to the A, and also to the D. However, instead of the little movement thing, we're actually staying on the G for one bar.
- D to G: This is a V, I progression.
- The V chord of G is:
- G up 5 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) is a D back to G, which is the I chord.
- The V chord of G is:
Conclusion
This creates a nice sort of resolution and makes us sound like we're at home. It gives the impression that the section is finished.
So once again, nice and simple B sections:
- 4 bars of:
- G
- A minor
- D
- G to D to G
Okay, simple as that!
