Music Lesson: Voice Exercises
Introduction
I'll be your guide. Alright guys, thank you so much for joining me in this course. That was a little ditty that I wrote; you can check it out on my YouTube channel. It's called Boomerang.
Starting the Audio Portion
Without further ado, we're going to get into the audio portion of this course. We will be starting off with the "ah" exercise that you saw in the video portion. This exercise is all about:
- Feeling out your voice
- Finding any tension spots in your voice that we can work on.
Let's get started with the three-tone scale on that "ah" exercise.
Exercise Details
All the scales that we're going to go through in this program are designed for both males and females.
- Males: Feel free to go as high as you can comfortably and freely.
- Females: Jump in when it's comfortable for you.
Let's begin:
Ah, ah, ah... and continue now on. Great job!
Important Note
Feel free at any point to duck out if you feel like it's getting too hard. You don't want to strain.
Female Range Focus
Here, we're more in the female range. Take note of:
- Tension patterns in your voice as you go back down the scale.
- Be aware of what your voice is doing.
Reflection
Notice what it's like coming back down into your chest voice. How does your body react?
