Welcome to the Piano Syllabus with Paddy Milner
Hi there!
I'm Paddy Milner, and I'm very happy to be here with Rock School teaching the piano syllabus. I've been very fortunate to travel around the world through music and play with some incredible artists, including:
- Tom Jones
- Van Morrison
- David Gilmour
And many other amazing musicians, both known and unknown, who have been a joy to work with.
Course Focus
In this course, I will primarily cover:
- Soul
- Gospel
- Blues
- Rock and Pop Tunes
Blues is my specialty, and everything related to that sound world.
Learning Objectives
I've been given some fantastic tunes to work with, and for each one, I will:
- Break it down
- Explore how to play the arrangements
- Analyze the stylistic elements
We will particularly focus on:
- Feel
- Groove
- Time
These are very important aspects of the music.
Technical Aspects
Additionally, we'll look at some technical elements within those pieces.
There's absolutely tons of stuff to learn! I've really enjoyed rediscovering these great songs and pieces, and I truly hope you enjoy playing them and learn a lot.
