Hey guys, welcome to the course! You've made a great choice.

Important Information

Before you get started, I want to ensure you get the most out of this experience. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Rock School Book:
- There's a lot of information available in this course, and it's not essential to own a Rock School book.
- However, I recommend getting a book if you're looking to dive deep into the performance pieces.
- You'll have access to all the transcriptions.
- If you're interested in booking a graded exam, having your own book will be absolutely essential to sit the exam.

Course Structure

The course is divided into a few sections:

Performance:
- A performance of each piece.
Analysis:
- Covers aspects such as:
  - Technique
  - Structure
  - Ways to develop and improvise in designated sections.
Technical Exercises:
- A run-through of all the technical exercises at your grade.
Improvisation and Creativity:
- Emphasizes melodic and rhythmic comping improvisation, which is useful for both:
  - Approaching improvisation outside the Rock School syllabus.
  - Creating solos within pieces.
Additional Materials:
- Lots of downloadable materials (PDFs, etc.) will be provided to help you progress further.
