Lesson on Separating Notes
We've had great fun playing glissandos in most music making. However, we need to be able to separate the notes slightly, and that's what we're going to learn.
Practice Exercise
Next, let's take the same notes we've been playing, only this time we're going to separate them.
- Let's use the same notes we were working with during the glissandos.
- This time, let's separate the notes.
Explanation
So, how did I make that sound different? I did two things:
- At the end of each note, I moved my slide a lot more quickly to the next position.
- To help with the next note, I used the sound "T" with my tongue.
Let me show.
