Conclusion of the Course

Congratulations! You've made it all the way through the course.

A Journey Through Country Music

We've explored:

  • The beginnings of old-time music
  • The evolution to contemporary country music

The Cycle of Country Music

For the last 50 years, country music has been in a cycle that includes:

  • Going back to its roots
  • Moving forward to the most commercial version of country music

This cycle typically spans about 10 to 15 years. During this time:

  • People often grow tired of the contemporary sound and yearn for a return to the roots.
  • Eventually, the genre shifts back to a more contemporary sound.

Exploring Contemporary Sound

To conclude, we will focus on a middle-of-the-road contemporary sound, which features:

  • Twanging guitars
  • Rock-inspired rhythms
  • Lots of drums

Backing Track

I will show you a backing track that includes a:

  • Verse
  • Chorus
  • Solo for the song titled "Both Kinds of Music"
