  • If you haven't got one already, you'll want to get hold of a Rock School grade book.
  • There's a lot you can pick up from this course without it, but it'll be a lot more effective if you do have the book.

Course Structure

   • The course starts with the pieces and then moves on to material that builds your technical ability.
   • There's loads of information on various topics such as:
     • Coordination
     • Timekeeping
     • Vocabulary
     • Phrasing
     • Soloing

2. Professional Performances:

   • The pieces are performed by a drummer who specializes in that style.
   • They follow their performance with a professional perspective on the piece, including:
     • Tips on playing the style authentically.
   • Note that these analyses often go beyond what's technically required for the grade exam.
   • Embrace this: Relish the challenge, as that's what this course is about, next-level pro advice.

3. Technical Exercises:

   • After the pieces, we dive into technical exercises, which are the building blocks of any drummer's technique.
