How to Play "Everywhere I Go"

Introduction

So, I am going to teach you how to play "Everywhere I Go." If you have zero guitar experience, I would recommend that you study the chord chart we mentioned, it will be attached. It's got some pretty basic chords in it.

Playing Methods

I'm going to show you a couple of ways to play it:

• Chords Only: I'll demonstrate this method first.
• Picked Intro: If you're feeling adventurous, there's another way to start the intro with a kind of picked out bit that I can show you as well.

Basic Chords

The basic chords in this song are:

• G
• B minor
• C
• D

I'll get to the picked out intro here shortly, but let's start with the chords you need.

Verse Chords

In the verse, you'll play:

• G: "I'll fall on my knees"
• B minor: "Tell me how's"
• C: "Show me all that I could be."

So, that's basically what happens in the verse. You're playing G, B minor, C, and D.

Chorus Chords

Now, let's go into the chorus. The chorus chords are:

• C
• D

These we've already played, but there is a new one to check out:

• E minor
• Back to C

This happens twice in the choruses. Hold on the C for a little tag at the end of the chorus:

• "Miss Tired Mind"
• C: "Just wants to"
• B minor: "Lead home."
• D

Then we'd go back to the verse:

• G
• B minor

Tempo

Let's talk about tempo.

You know, if I'm playing this solo, I could play it at any BPM (beats per minute) that I want. It's a tender song, and the recording of it is quite slow. So, you can really do whatever you want, but I wouldn't say this is like a song you would rush through. There's a lot of emotion in it, and for me that means kind of having it feel tender and a little slower.

When I play it with the various bands I've played with, it's always a little different. You have to gauge the mood and the crowd; sometimes we speed it up and sometimes it's really slow, creating a quiet, special moment.
