Thicker Melodies: Enhancing Your Music
One of the things I want to talk about is how to thicken melodies.
At the moment, everything in the right hand is in single notes, while the left hand is playing double notes. So, why not try to thicken the right hand by adding notes underneath the melody?
Suggested Approach:
- Look at the music and identify the main notes.
- I've put boxes around these main notes, where I suggest you add something underneath.
Choosing the Notes:
The notes to add are from the chord. For example:
- If we have a B melody note and the chord is G, the obvious choices would be:
- G underneath
- D underneath
Of course, you could also include the seventh in as well.
I'm just going to go for this option.
