Group B: Types of Seventh Chords
In this lesson, we will explore the various types of seventh chords: major seven, minor seven, and dominant seven. Each of these chords consists of four-note arpeggios.
A Major 7 Arpeggio
Let's begin with the A major 7 arpeggio as shown in the book:
- Count: 1, 2, 3, 4
Minor 7 Arpeggio
Next, we'll move on to the minor 7 arpeggio. This time, we will be in the key of C, starting on the 8th fret:
- Count: 1, 2, 3, 4
D Dominant 7 Arpeggio
Lastly, we'll cover the D dominant 7 arpeggio. This is shown using the A string root note. We will start on the 5th fret of the A string:
- Count: 1, 2, 3, 4
Note on Shape Variation
The shape for this one will remain the same if you start it on the E string.
- If you wanted it in D, you'd start on the 10th fret.
